First off, it’s been a little while since we posted here, but we’ll aim to keep you a bit more updated going forward! Well, anyways, on to some exciting news…
We are extremely thrilled to announce the acquisition of ZestADZ, firmly bringing Komli Media into the mobile medium. ZestADZ is one of the leading mobile advertising marketplaces, and we are really fortunate to be able to partner with their team to build the next generation of mobile solutions. While we have been thinking about mobile for a while, and even experimenting, it took us a while to identify a partner like ZestADZ which is culturally and technically a great fit. Mobile advertising is certainly the topic du jour, though it is still in its nascent stages. We see it developing quickly over the next few years and are excited about participating and contributing to the industry as it evolves.
This is a strategic acquisition for Komli Media in more ways than one:
- We have always believed that marketers are looking to work with a few players that can handle the bulk of their digital needs and to provide them with a holistic customer engagement program. With our new capabilities, we are the first player in Asia Pacific to be able to help agencies, advertisers, and publishers with display, mobile, video, search, and social media across both brand and performance marketing.
- Mobile usage is fast growing. According to eMarketer estimates, Asia Pacific mobile internet users will nearly double from 623 million in 2011 to more than 1.22 billion in 2015. At the end of 2015, it is estimated that one out of every two mobile users worldwide will reside in Asia Pacific. Within India, the mobile internet penetration is estimated today at 40 million users and is expected to grow to over 200 million users by 2016.
- Mobile advertising is also fast growing. According to a recent Gartner forecast, global mobile advertising revenue is set to double in 2011, growing to USD$3.3 billion from $1.6 billion in 2010.

ZestADZ is based out of Chennai and has been amongst the top mobile advertising platforms in the space serving 5 billion impressions each month. Their strong technology helps us deliver campaigns with various performance and brand parameters across consumers using feature phones and smartphone platforms such as Android, iPhone, and Windows Mobile.
We have been observing increased interest from marketers to understand and engage with consumers on the mobile medium. The enormous growth in mobile phone users in India and Asia Pacific broadly, coupled with associated factors such as declining handset costs, increasing popularity of smartphones, and the launch of 3G/4G in India, are pointing to a new period of growth in mobile.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, we are excited to welcome the ZestADZ team into the Komli Media family. The talent at the ZestADZ team has built a great technology platform that has some very unique and innovative capabilities.
