Who We Are
Komli is made up of a diverse team of folks who have lived around the world including the US, China, Switzerland, and India. We love to help our customers, build cool stuff, and have a good laugh! Since we didn't want to bore you with everyone's backgrounds here's a bit of info on some of our leadership team.
Leadership Team
Amar Goel, Founder and CEO
Amar founded Komli in October 2006. He previously led a sales and service team at Microsoft/MSN for the financial services and retail verticals. Amar previously founded and ran Chipshot.com, a leading online golf-etailer. He has also worked at McKinsey & Co, and Netscape Communications. Amar is a graduate of Harvard University, with a Masters in computer science, and a Bachelors in economics. He loves to play golf and once fell in a creek while playing.
Mukul Kumar, VP of Engineering and Founding Engineer
Mukul is responsible for Komli's engineering team and resides in Pune, India. Mukul was previously the Director of Engineering at PANTA Systems, a high performance computing startup. Previous to that he joined VERITAS India as the 13th employee and helped it grow to over 2,000 individuals as Director of Engineering for the NetBackup group, VERITAS' main product. He has filed for 14 patents in systems software, storage software, and application software and proudly proclaims his love of π and can recite it to 60 digits. Mukul is a graduate of IIT Kharagpur with a degree in electrical engineering.
Akshay Garg, Business Head and Founding Manager
Akshay leads Komli’s ad network with day to day responsibility for operations, revenue management and business development. He previously ran a small consulting company and an Indian restaurant in Kunming, China, and India’s first private institute dedicated to the teaching of Chinese in New Delhi . Before getting bitten by the entrepreneurial bug, he worked at the United Nations in Geneva and at Deloitte Consulting in Seattle. A Sinophile, Akshay speaks fluent Chinese and gets an itch if he doesn’t make it there at least once every six months. Akshay did graduate work in economics at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, and attended Whitman College in USA for his Bachelor’s degree. He likes mountain biking and playing tennis.
